Home Automation! Is my driving passion, over the years I have experimented with dozens of systems and even had full voice control back in the 80s!  Me and my wife are so used to lights being automatic, when we go to friends and motels we frequently walk in dark places and expect the lights to come on!  I founded CompCo Engineering in the 90's which was in turn bought by Smarthome.com.  I have designed and built many widgets now on the market that aid in making your home SMART!

My first system was my bedroom back in the 70's (actually late 60's), using pinball machine relays and Ultrasonic clicker remotes I had remote control of my lights, hifi, tv and workbench area (not bad for 9 years old) :)  I went on to wire the outside lights of the family home to trigger from the photocell on the mercury light over the driveway and enabled special switches that would let the inside lights follow as well for when we were out for the evening.

Since adulthood I have totally rebuilt my systems a dozen times over the last 30+ years and expect to detail each of them on this page, come back often and check for updates!
